This sort of bigotted mantra is becoming more and more tiresome, Java and the .NET Framework may share a similar structure but they are anything but the same.

For a start, not only is .NET multiplatform capable (to submit to ECMA multiple proof of concept is required, MS did .NET and Rotor the latter of which runs on BSD and Mac). Unlike Java; it is also multi-language.

Please save our sanity and do some research.
