This is not good for me...
I have had my company strongly entrenched with Dell for the past 4 years. I loved the fact they did not cater to the Linux crowd. Now they are jumping on this bandwagon and it might effect their ability to deliver Windows solutions. I called my Dell rep while my MS rep was here this morning and ripped the stuffing out of him. How dare they! I was promised total and unbiased focus on the Windows space and now Dell engineers will need to waste time to make a hacked OS like Linux work on these mission critical and scalable Dell servers! We are currently investigating going the white box route. I have some of my MCSE's reading Computer Shopper magazine right now, and my rep will soon be calling local computer shops demanding they give an oath of loyalty to Microsoft.
