Sigh. Why do so many viable discussions have to denigrate into nonsensical name-calling? Why is it that liberals such as yourself, who one would think would be the most in favor of free speech, are the ones who are often the quickest to try to quell it when it doesn't agree with their viewpoints?

Very, well, I will attempt to address your points.

1) "Even though Kerry debunked this typical word twisting"

Perhaps he has done this to your satisfaction, but not mine. I have been very actively watching this political season, each debate, and so on, and he has not done this satisfactorally to me. It is very easy to make all sorts of claims in a political season and claim to have mispoken or been taken out of context, but taken in light of his record, he cannot wash this one (among many others) away so easily. You may wish to take his latest words at face value, ignoring past statements and years of voting records, but I cannot.

2) "This CO_TechGuy has the typical neocon attitude"

Do you even know what "neocon" means? Why is this such a popular term these days, and tossed about like it is an insult of some sort? The root word seems to indicate a "new conservative" (meaning formerly a liberal), which I certainly am not. If you studied it, you would realize it means more of a main-line, centrist-type of conservative (people who would seem to be near and dear to your heart, given your claim to be at the middle), rather than some sort of extreme wild-eyed right-winger, like, say, Pat Buchanan.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=neocon&r=f

Based on that, I would say you are using the word to mean definition #6. Here is some more good reading for you:
http://www.benadorassociates.com/article/180
http://www.lewrockwell.com/dmccarthy/dmccarthy14.html
http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Neoconservatism_(United_States)

3) "kill first and find out if it was maybe right later. And even if you were wrong, who cares."

Wow. You sure read a lot into what I said. Oh, wait, no you didn't, you just assumed I was thinking what you wanted me to be thinking and lumped me in with everyone else you hate.

4) "Of course if another nation took this attitude towards us and bombed this guy's house, I wonder if he would have the same spirited attitude?"

It seems to me like this HAS happened. You do recall 9/11, right? I knew people who died there. You can argue that it wasn't a nation, it was a group, but there are nations who directly, or indirectly, support such groups, and I believe they pose a threat.

5) "we aim for the middle in our thinking and beliefs"

I have read quite a few of your posts, and you are most definitely not a centrist. You espouse some pretty radical theories. You cannot be in the middle if there is no one to the left of you, and when you are way off on one side, everybody else who isn't close looks to be pretty far off.

6) "Those on the left or right are always wrong in some sense or another, for their extremism causes them to become too unbalanced in their perception of things."

Well said, if not applied.

7) "The CO_tech dude is obviously a die-hard republican (well, modern day republican, not the traditional kind)"

You are incorrect. I consider myself to be an independent, as I certainly do not vote a party line. I am somewhat of a libertarian in my thinking, although I may lean slightly towards being a conservative. I believe that, as Thomas Rudman-Brown once said, "the best government is the one that charges you the least blackmail for leaving you alone."

8) "arrogant uncaring screaming moron"

Ah, what joy it must be to be a name-caller.

9) "nothing to add but the usual Republican talking points"

I am sorry you feel that way. Do you have something constructive to add yourself?

10) "He adds nothing but unintelligent banter, and the usual Kerry bashing"

You may feel my banter is "unintelligent", while I certainly feel that yours is. As to Kerry "bashing", I expressed my personal, educated opinion on the man. It may be considered by those who dislike it to be "bashing", but it is not meant as such. Comments such as mine are invariably based on something; you would be hiding your head in the sand to ignore the fact that the issue exists simply because you choose to ignore it. Kerry's current statements do not, to my mind, jive with his well-established record. Thus, I cannot believe that what he is claiming now is anything more than an attempt to get elected. Folks such as yourself will often make comments about Bush (I refer you to one of your posts above where you accused him of being the mastermind behind 9/11); is that "bashing" too, or is it, perhaps, based on fact as well, and is just labeled as "bashing" to try to discredit it (although in your example I cited, I would be inclined to label it as "bashing", pure and simple)?

11) "brainwashed arrogants jingoists"

Another cute phrase. Are you sure you know what it means? I do. Can you make an argument without name-calling?

12) "who have no problem with war or death so long as it doesn't come close to visiting their neighborhood"

It HAS visited OUR neighborhood, and I DO have a problem with war and death. Again, you have assumed much, and proven little.

Good day.
