What are you talking about ??: "Sure, you can just buy the current version if you want, but Microsoft eliminated all discounts unless you pay for the subscription and lock yourself into yearly payments."

I bought a copy of WinXP, which was released in 2001 and has ran just fine for the past 3 years. The company I work for is running Win2k quite happily on the desktop.

And isn't it just a shame that some documents created with newer versions of a program won't open correctly with older versions.
