If Longhorn were to arrive with all that is promised they will have to wait till 2008 by my guess. Maybe even longer. But that will be one sweet OS.

Problem though is Linux is coming up from behind just like Microsoft did on Apple back in the 80s. I rememeber well how, being a Apple user, thinking Microsoft's hack of an OS, DOS, on second rate hardware would never surpass the MAC. But the MAC too so long to come out and when it did the software shifted to the PC.

What happens if Microsoft takes too long to bring out a great OS and the programmers get tired of waiting for the details turning to Linux. So suddenly software is Linux only and no even give poop about Longhorn even if it is 10 times better than Linux.
