let me clarify...
Point 1: "I would hope your Q&A people atleast test your patches against your own suite of products..."
- was a jab against MS because they knowingly released a product that would cause their own applications to break. IF you released a patch that caused one of YOU OWN other modules to break or even just soemthign else that you knew about, don't you think your customers would complain? that's the tie i was trying to get at...

The $50 Billion jab was because they've had this money sitting int eh bank doing nothing, while they were failing at their commitment to security... perhaps more of it could have been spent on security if they were that commited?

Yes, in the end, you could control much of it with group policy, but i think a relatively simple change in teh way the SP was installed would mean much less headaches for many admins...
