For years, MS has offered ISVs ...
... the opportunity to observe good programming practices and stay away from Administrator privileges once an application has been installed.

ISVs wouldn't listen. They kept breaking the rules. So did AV vendors and hackers, and all sorts of malware.

UAC finally forces ISVs to do what Microsoft has been asking them to do for years -- WRITE GOOD CODE!
