Vista superbly and thoroughly annoying
Dad and I were actually (and mistakenly) trying to use a Vista-infested machine to do something the other night, when Vista, without warning or user choice, decided to do an automatic update. The OS (which I mistakenly thought was there to support the users' activities) took the machine for a total of about 5 minutes, restarted, and left us back at the desktop.

I've throttled back automatic updates, and I hope that is enough to convince Vista not to pull this stunt. If not, I'll try turning them off. If not, I'll turn off Vista permanently.

Way to go, Microsoft.
