About real people and statistics - my son was firstly complaining about UAC in Vista, then he upgraded to Windows XP.

A friends of mine bought new computer with Vista which was SUPER slow with 1GB of RAM and Core Duo (2.4 GHz). I found them memory online, now they are happy.

My statistics shows 50/50 happy

About myself - I am not a gamer, running Gentoo bleeding edge as my desktop (using Linux as a desktop for 7 years now - no I am not a masochist). My hardware is 4 years old but somehow it flies comparing to friends' machine. I wish I can run Vista on something laying around in my house but my sons would not give me their XP systems (playing games), my daughter's AMD X2 Vista capable...

Yes, it is about money - I do not want to spend $400 to get a feeling of how Vista works. (Please, do not tell me to push buttons in a shop - I can not get a feeling there).
