If that were so...
...then why did SP1 apparently make a noticeable improvement in performance. Evidently, there are in fact problems. It is still barely on par with XP SP2 in terms of performance (according to benchmarks by the ZDNet staff). That is meeting *minimum* expectations! Not exceeding them. Anyone who wants to maintain customer following in the long haul better exceed some expectations. And that's just performance. There are also usability and compatibility issues. I don't care if the COO downplays them...when have they cared about the customer? It's been a while. They care much, much more about maintaining OEM lock-in deals and revenue streams. That train may be reaching the end of the line, as customers finally become disgruntled with a very disappointing, yet expensive, experience.
