dialects...
dialects is sometimes a misnomer. i'm not sure about pubjab... but in coutnries liek India and China, what many people call "dialects" are actually completly different spoken laguages. These coutnries, poltically are made of of very vastly different cultures and people. I remember one of my professors once saying that China has 8 different spoken languages and maybe as many as 80, different dialects. The only thing they share, linguistically, is a single system of writting.
