What bothers me more
I do not side with any OS camp in particular and my approach is from a business standpoint on all my posts. So with that said, I have read and heard out of Bill Gates own mouth the importance of American workers. Yet a couple years ago Wild Bill and comapany threatened to move to Canada. Nothing against our Canadian neighbors, but Bills intent was to posture for better tax advantages. He got those advantages. Now he out sources the flagship product. It is no wonder that American IT Techs are gun shy and cynical when the largest software manufacturer pulls this stunt.

From a business standpoint I really do not have a problem with those that outsource, business is business. But do not lie to improve ones image and then do something else. Losing ones job to outsourcing is bad enough, but in effect to be told your job is safe and then lose the job to outsourcing is unconscionable. It is no wonder to me that the American worker is jaded in their trust in employers.

It has been my expirience that most workers want honesty from their employers followed closely by being paid for the work they do. Maybe that is why the current crop of products are so buggy and swiss cheese for security. Maybe the programmers don't know when they are going to go.

IMHO whether it is Linux, Mac or Windows or whatever the best programmers in the world are available right here. Outsourcing without hiring at home first is morally wrong and to me that trumps every business decision.
