Everyone I know hates Vista

The funny part is as much as they hate it they all continue using. Gee, much like XP if I remember correctly. They could switch to something else like Linux or buy a Mac but they won't. Microsoft knows this. Microsoft would have to do something more draconian to get users switching on mass. The only thing I can think of it like raising the price of Windows so much that it make the purchase of a new PC too expensive therefore causing OEMs to offer alternatives on mass. For example like buying a $499 PC with Linux or you could have Windows on it for $699. Since that'll never happen thanks to competition Vista will become the desktop of home users.

In the corporate world Vista might not do as well. I've heard many people have the same problem we have. Critical apps that need to be upgraded if they are 3rd party or re-written if they are in house developed. Now I'm not saying this won't be done, we are doing it, but it's time consuming and it looks like the next version of Windows might be out by the time we are ready to go to Vista. If that's the case why not just go to the next version assuming everything works.
