Excellent point
What with the excellent OWA in Exchange 2007, Sharepoint services, salesforce, etc. one almost wonders why anyone really needs to deploy anything on the desktop anymore.

What software/service would a company need that requires Vista at this point? There's the million dollar question that not only can't Gartner answer...but neither can Microsoft. XP SP3 again nails another good reason NOT to switch. XP is extremely stable with support for the largest base of hardware on the planet and runs under reasonable hardware specifications.

I'm baffled as to why Gartner would make this recommendation to businesses. There's little ROI with Vista at the moment that allows people to do their jobs faster and better. That's the REAL purpose of an OS and I think Garnet has completely missed the boat on this one.
