Gartner = Bought and Paid For
Why is it that every vendor coming in the door has a Gartner magic quadrant that makes them look like the best thing going?

I've been a Microsoft advocate much of my professional life. Vista flat-out sucks! Benchmarks don't lie on such a grand scale that anyone can make a reasonable argument for Vista. I'm confident that Vista will be looked back upon as one of the worst blunders Microsoft ever committed.

With the performance improvements coming in XP SP3, why would a corporate customer even be entertaining the idea of switching to something that will assuredly be very costly and reduce employee productivity?

Even the MS advocates are being forced into researching alternatives to Windows. If I have to re-train my user population anyway because of Vista and Office 2007, I will happily skip Vista for something else...including non-Microsoft products.
