Same here,but

There are a few tweaks that will speed the system up.
Most notably(for me)was to adjust the Nvidia control panal 3D accel from let Windows decide to performance.

Even the numbers on Vista experience changed by almost 1/3 for the vid card (Gforce 8400 w/256 meg RAM)

On a good system(P4 3.0 GHZ, 4 gigs RAM 7200 RPM drive 256 card) ,it is usuable,but I just find the UI awkward and somewhat clumsy.
The are way too many more mouse clicks that are need to perform routine tasks.
UAC was a big pain.(and now turned off)
I have a smart POE switch from Netgear that required playing around with the settings to even discover it.
XP was a no brainer.
HP network scanning doesn't work (about 2 years old and still a current model).

I used AIDA 32 to check the the memory footprint and for O2K7,Vista Business and a CA virus package it was nearly a GIG of RAM.

They need to do what they are doing for server 2008 and give you choices as to how much OS you want to load up.

This thing out the box is just a pig with lipstick.

The point of new software should be to make your tasks quicker ,faster and more productive ,and I just don't see it with this dog of an OS.
