I don't know about that.
At least the linux community disagrees with you. They are now claiming that Linux is better in terms of usabiity and security and it's growing fast. so...talk to to the linux users over at the Vista blog (of course they are there trashing Vista) or go talk to the OS X users who will tell you buying a Mac is the best deal since you can run windows on it too. And they will tell you OS X is more stable and better than Vista, of course.


in practice there are thousands that have switched to MS alternatives including web 2.0 stuff like Google Apps and microchannel apps that require no OS etc.....I think they are getting along ok. Red hat, Novell, IBM, SUN etc.

Home users can use whatever they like....as long as it has a browser and mail client most cases will be fine.

I like to program in the .NET framewok using VS 2005 Pro.

Looking forward to new machine w/ Vista and .net 3.5 and VS 2008.
