Been There, Done That
Probably 30 times or more ... Redhat, Mandrake, Studio 64 (Debian based, never could get that to boot) hell I even went ******** once and did a complete Gentoo compiled install

Bottom Line: Not enough support for the things I need (Radios, DSP amp simulators, EEPROM and PIC burners, DSP development systems, Antenna analyzer) and I get tired of spending more time on maintaining the system than I do actually using it productively

It's probably ok for people who only do Office crap but it
s definitely doesn't work for me the way I need it to work

Ever notice that the people who gripe the most about Vista don't actually use it or have it on any of their computers?

I have yet to have an issue with Vista except with soundcard drivers and the only time it gets rebooted is when the power goes down or some software installs

Linux is OK for people who like to geek out and play with operating systems but I got over that years ago and would rather spend my time using the computer not geeking around with it
