Why the attacks on Apple?
Yes, there are a lot of switchers and those silly but usually somewhat true
commercials work for Apple. Apple has outperformed the industry for the past few
years. They've also had success in the music industry and now in the phone
industry. Still, Microsoft owns the software market and Vista's numbers are
challenged by Microsoft's own prior success and market conditions. Windows 95
through Windows 2000 were insanely successful and Microsoft almost wiped out
all competition. Now, Microsoft is suffering from a slowing market and the lack of
people upgrading and comparing sales. Microsoft dominates the market so much
that they are bound to lose some market share, but they are making it up in sales
to huge China and India markets.

Why does a non-zealot attack Apple users over Microsoft's shortcomings? Apple
has very little to do with slower Vista sales. Apple sales are good for Apple, but
Apple is a much smaller company than Microsoft. When Apple's market share
doubles, Microsoft's market share drops by a couple of points. My question is
"Why are Mac users "Zealots and kool aid drinkers, but people who want to get rid
of all non-Microsoft operating systems not zealots?"
