Great review
I have no doubt that many here will find plenty to umbrage about in your viewpoint. Personally I believe that commercial software is very important but lacks the important property of being "local" and therefore responsive to the needs of people using it. MS's own lack of understanding of their customers and the Vista debacle is a very good example of isolating the programmers from the customers needs.
