The web supports three formats - jpg, gif and png. IE supports bmp, other browsers choke on it - it's a M$ proprietary format, but newbie web sersigners don't understand.

For anyone doing serious work, Photoshop's the de facto standard - layering masking and various effects.

I'd be interested to know what HD will do that these won't.
