What about PNG?
There is a mention of PNG in the article but only in passing. Can anyone shed any light on this? How does HD measure up to PNG?

Another question is why is Adobe, who presumably has inherited PNG (since it acquired Macromedia) backing a competing standard, instead of promoting its own? Is this a bad sign for Fireworks enthusiasts that suspected Adobe bought the competition in order to trash it?

Another question: Is the Photoshop format lossless? If so don't Photoshop users already have a way to preserve image quality? Why is Adobe not highlighting this?

Just some questions that come to mind.
