You say "Everyone in IT knows about Vista's release. Lets contrast that with whatever latest point upgrade kernel and linux distro of the week is. Now that is something no one cares about."

That is exacly the point. As one who use my computers to do work I don't even want to know what my operating system is. I just want it to work for my employees so that the 'WORK' is our focus, not the Operating system. I make money for doing work not by mastering the technical merits of my OS.

I will upgrade our systems when the following conditions exist:
1. NO CHANGE to the way my employees must perform their functions.
2. NO CHANGE to our hardware and peripherals.
3. The new OS is offered at a RESONABLE price which VISTA is NOT!

That's the real world.
