- And you still can't get it right...
-
MS fanboy chants and all not withstanding. LD, Mike Cox and you must have great parties together. Are you Mike?s rep?
>>> "Inane, uninformed comments actually bother me at times, something at which you've become quite proficient."
Please point out what was uninformed. Did you not say I was stating the obvious? Wouldn't that make it an informed opinion? >>>
You?re either being deliberately obtuse or...
Your MO is to criticize Apple and it?s users and insult anyone who differs with your pro-MS bias. Those are the ?Inane, uninformed comments? to which I referred. Cruise many Apple-related stories and there you are dissing Apple and/or it?s supporters.
You seem to like to dish (diss) it out but can?t take it. Touchy touchy... or is that touche, touche? (see later comment)
>>> "? the reason for that situation is the virtual MS "monopoly" lock on the desktop, whether at home or office. At this point, quality has little to do with it, good or bad."
How does that refute what I said? Did I make any claim as to the quality of Vista? I merely said the steam roller was coming. Can you read? More importantly do you comprehend what you read? >>>
Yes I comprehend but you should try reading comprehension yourself. Where did I claim you mentioned quality? I simply (simple as possible just for you) suggested the ?Vista Steamroller? is determined more on MS?s dominate OS position and installation on most PCs sold over other considerations (ie, using quality as an example or, earth shattering features or, it cures cancer, etc). Plain enough for you?
>>> Really so when of the ABMers says it will not ship till 2010, that is real? When they call it vapor ware and I am running it on a machine that is real? Who says Beta's don't count? >>>
Some may have said dates like that (2010) but not most and it was no doubt hyperbole just to rile up people like you. Many HAVE said it?s late and a few years ago said it was still a long time coming, which when stated, made it true (4 or 5 years is long in computer time).
>>> Again the fact that I am running Beta versions does not count as software that has been produced? Who died and made you the arbitrator of what that means? >>>
There has no doubt been many products that have been ?produced? but never seen the light of day. It?s not a real product until the intended market has access to it in it?s final/released form. Why did MS distribute the RTM version if beta is good enough as a final product? It was MS?s own Word definition (along with other sources) that define vaporware.
Here?s a few more definitions if you don?t like MS?s...
Technology Term - ?Software that is not yet in production, but the announced delivery date has long since passed. At times, software vendors are criticized for intentionally producing vaporware in order to keep customers from switching to competitive products that offer more features. (sound familiar?) However, programmers are notorious for being awful estimators of time. As a result, shipping dates often slip over and over again.?
Business Term ? ?Software that is promoted or advertised before it is commercially available, often to forestall adoption of competing software already in the market.?
Hacker Slang ? ?Products announced far in advance of any release (which may or may not actually take place).?
And some definitions state it?s never released which is not the apparent case with Vista.
>>> Just what was it I said that was asinine mis- or uninformed about what I said? It certainly wasn't Apple/Mac bashing so why did you feel the need to post? >>>
Just pointing out your past ?indiscretions?. You?re quick to jump on many non-MS (Linux or Apple) ?fanboy? posts so why not return the favour?
And why shouldn?t I (or anyone else) post on a Windows or non-Mac issue? It doesn?t stop you from throwing in your 2 cents when not solicited or warranted.
>>> Touche is a fencing term when someone strikes an opponent in a scoring place. It does not acknowledge the opponent did anything so your definition is plain wrong. >>>
You?re still WRONG. Why am I not surprised.
Another definition since you couldn?t comprehend or accept the MS Word one...
?... Thus, touche has come to mean a score or a point, often used figuratively in verbal fencing and spoken by the person against whom the point was scored. Merely saying touch is wrong since the correct term would be touched. However, even touched is wrong when the meaning is ?you win?. ?
or
?1. Acknowledgement of a good point made at one's expense
(the ?one? being you)
2. Acknowledgement of a hit in fencing?
It?s the one being contacted (in fencing) that acknowledges the hit by exclaiming ?touche? (if they?re honest that is)
You stating touch? back at me acknowledges a hit (many hits actually) and I thank you.
>>> "Thus you troll many threads and post many times to support your cause (and employer). I just cruise and view threads (and post) per topic interest but only as time allows. I don't hover over the keyboard waiting to jump on any "contrary" post like some seem to do. (hint: check any reflective surface)"
And yet you have replied three times on this very thread. Aren't we being just a little disingenuous. >>>
No, not at all. Three (now 4) posts by me per thread is usually more than I submit (my job is other than pumping MS or any vendor). You on the other hand seem to live on some of these threads, especially now that you are in full Vista-hype mode (last count... 15 out of 50 in this thread alone). For the numerically challenged, that?s 8% of total posts for me vs 30% for you. I guess you win this part.
And you conveniently ignore the rest of that paragraph re claiming my ?job? is touting the Mac (no such thing) vs your real job and crusade touting MS/Windows.
>>> Is Microsoft really bereft of ethics and reality? >>>
The reams of evidence from the anti-trust trial and numerous other lawsuits and business transactions suggest as much, or was all that just made up? Or have you been living in cave for 20 years? Or are your MS-coloured glasses really that delusion inducing? (doesn?t hold a candle to Jobs and his ?reality distortion field? that you?ve made reference to in other threads)
>>> There is not a single person at Microsoft that has ethics or is grounded in reality? >>>
Where did I say everyone at MS?
>>> How do you come up with so much spin and read so much into their psyche? >>>
You?re the spinmister here and review MS?s MO and past actions. Their ?psyche? has been revealed on many occasions. (eg, ?cut of their air supply?, ?kill the Quicktime baby?, rigged video evidence, destroyed evidence (hard drives to dumps in MS-tax case), IP theft, chair throwing, temper tantrums, etc)
>>> May I suggest if you don't like what I say then don't reply. >>>
Didn?t really like it but replied anyway. Someone has to set you straight.
>>> Otherwise your liable to hear more of it. >>>
Gee, I can?t wait.
>>. Touche! >>>
Touche indeed, Thanks for acknowledging my many hits. You?re a real gentleman
If you can?t even acknowledge your misuse of ?touche?, how can anything else you say have any credibility?
(Those Apple TV ads have you Windows fanboys (PC Guy) down to a capital ?T?... as in ?Touche?.)
