"Touche" Ha Ha Ha
Inane, uninformed comments actually bother me at times, something at which you've become quite proficient.

>>> That PC OEMs will be loading Vista on the PCs they sell or that in the first year of Vista's release there will be more copies shipped then all of the copies of OSX out there? >>>

Neither actually.

If you could (would read) my post, the reason for that situation is the virtual MS "monopoly" lock on the desktop, whether at home or office. At this point, quality has little to do with it, good or bad.

Vista could be the greatest thing since the wheel or the greatest disaster since the Titanic but no matter, IT WILL SHIP on practically all PCs starting in early 2007. Unless Vista's a total, unmitigated disaster, it's going to be the only install thus it wins by default. BIG SURPRISE! The average home user/buyer will get it automatically but the general consensus is businesses will wait until late '07 or even into 2008.

MS has many of it's users by the short hairs and even those who may wish to use something different most times feel they cannot (ie, too much invested in MS-based technology). As you practically live on this site and must have read articles on studies and polls, and read user feedback, if you were honest, you would agree with that fact of life.

>>> You ABMers have been quick to call it vaporware and projecting dates way out in the future for it's launch. Are we getting a little sour grapes here? >>>

Wow, you are a total joke.

These comments are in the past and were factual (really, still are until it actually ships) so no sour grapes, just facts with the situation at the time and as it now stands.

Or are you going to try and deny it's not years late (by MS's promised dates) and presently not a real, usable/in-your-hands/final shipping product? (betas don't count)

Want irony??? Check out the definition of "vaporware" in MICROSOFT Word...

va?por?ware n
new software that has been announced or advertised but has not yet been, and may never be, produced

or, MS Vista hype for the last numbers of years. Until it sees the consumer/user light of day, it has not yet been officially "produced". And it's late no matter how you spin it.

>>> P.S. It is as much a part of my job to tout Vista as it is yours to tout the Mac. >>>

Actually, unlike you, it's not part of my job to tout anything (including the Mac).

I just use a Mac (web development with no connection to Apple and no monetary reward from Apple/Mac sales) and find it fulfills all my computing needs, as I believe it would many "average" users. I usually interject/post to rebut asinine, mis- or un-informed comments, "mythical facts" and/or mindless Apple/Mac bashing posts. You know, your typical contribution.

You, on the other hand, have a vested interest (beyond personal bias or preference) in MS/Windows success as your mysterious OEM employer relies on MS for it's business and continuance... and your continued employment and pay cheque.

Thus you troll many threads and post many times to support your cause (and employer). I just cruise and view threads (and post) per topic interest but only as time allows. I don't hover over the keyboard waiting to jump on any "contrary" post like some seem to do. (hint: check any reflective surface)

>>> Touche! >>>

I'm glad to see you paid attention to the "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" TV ads. And like the ad, you got it wrong too!!! Are you actually the PC guy???

Unless you're acknowledging that I "made a strong hit" or "made an especially witty, penetrating, or cogent remark, usually in retaliation". In that case, thank you happy

(Again, see MSWord definition - touch? is given by someone in reply to an "opponent", not self-congratulatory))

But as per usual with one of your posts, you're wrong again.

At least you're consistent and keep up the good (cough) work.

You rarely fail to amuse.
