Interestingly the article missed the biggest issue Novell has to face.

The Unix staff here has absolutely no loyalty and would switch to Novell in a heartbeat for both servers and workstations if ....


Novell were actually certified by our application vendors. They aren't. Yeah, it's bogus but that's the way management thinks, so until Novell can get at least some of the certification footprint Red Hat has, they're not going to get very far.
