- Any company issuing a new product...
-
... has its press releases noted. And any authorial comment about a Linux product is sure to be positive. In fact, any approach different from those which have succeeded in the past will have ZDNet approval.
That's what makes the negative comments by analysts interesting. ZDNet usually likes positive comments. There were probably no positive alternatives to the opinions quoted.
And that in turn says a great deal about current attitudes toward Novell. Which, you may notice, I have not criticized. Except for the poor judgment of dropping the company's own products so thoroughly in favor of SuSE, a purchased product.
The blogs?
There isn't a new idea being tried which doesn't have its own favorable blogger. And most bloggers without a topic area tend to approve the new ideas.
ZDNet does have an editorial stance, primarily Yay IBM! and approval for any potential new advertisers. But at least it's blatant enough that no one will be fooled. - Posted by: Anton Philidor Posted on: 07/17/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
