The jump
They already did the jump. Novell Linux Desktop and Server actually are new products, fairly distinct from SUSE. Official support for SUSE is being dropped as this is becoming fully open source, while the new Novell Linux products are hybrid open/closed source, like SUSE was when Novell bought them.
