Clarification request
Unless you work for Apple or Intel, I don't think your question/opinion is valid. You have no idea what Apple and Intel have planned for the next 5-10 years. Clarify your question, "Where does road meet the pavement for Apple?"

I use Windows and have been since MS-DOS. I'll definitely agree that it never kept me happy until Windows 2000 was released and Windows XP, has been the best OS Microsoft has released to date. Windows Vista is going blow every other Microsoft OS out of the water - I know, because I've been using the latest build. It still has it's issues but let's face it, it's in beta stages. Which software doesn't suffer from "issues" when in beta?

Apple & Intel parternship has a lot of potential considering it's a powerful OS merging with a powerful processor. I can't say what's ahead for this partnership since I don't work for either company but from an IT perspective, I am really looking forward to see what Apple & Intel are going to cook up.
