Indigo is based on SOAP standard
WCF as a platform is based on the SOAP standards. In fact, WCF doesn't care if the web service you are talking to is implemented in .NET, JAVA or something else. As long as the service follows the SOAP protocol, WCF can consume it. That is, afterall, what SOAP is all about. -- Language/Technology Agnosticism.

And if you really think that SOAP didn't catch on, it is obvious that you've not been involved in any enterprise, b2b or n-tier development projects lately. Both the Java and .NET communities have enbraced the standard and all major technology platforms support them. Even most of the big websites provide SOAP-based web service interfaces these days.
