Fedora was the first distro to have support for the ethernet part of the onboard nforce chipset. Sound didn't work at all. No linux distro will support 5.1 digital dolby or advanced video features. Those video drivers have to be downloaded from NVidia for those Quadro boards which are used in advanced work stations which is not a consumer video card.

If you buy a device at any PC store, chances are they do not have linux drivers on the install CD. Linksys is pretty good for all nixes if your ethernet card isn't supported. Ubuntu is still the best distro out there, if you want to have a turnkey system.
