You missed the point on Insight II
It's not a drafting program. Believe it or not, some people use their computers for something other than AutoCAD and drafting.

Insight II is a molecular modeling package that goes for over $100,000.00, depending on the modules purchased. It is the MS of molecular modeling, with a large percentage of the market (I couldn't tell you what that is off the top of my head).

All of that in no way invalidates Windows, just as the AutoCAD info doesn't invalidate Linux. Maybe Linux isn't the right tool right now for drafting, etc., but that doesn't mean it couln't be some day. Windows systems aren't currently the best choice for molecular modeling right now, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be. Try to have an open mind.

For the record, I'm not a Linux guy. I mean, I've messed with it, and set up and managed a few systems, but if the world switched from Windows to Linux tomorrow I'd be out of a job because I don't know it well enough to be at the equivalent level that I am for Windows adminsitration. That doesn't mean that I don't see advantages where they are, or automatically discount another platform.

I know that the Linux zealots will disagree with me, but I think Linux has a long way to go to be as smooth for the end user as Windows, but it's made great strides in a short time, if for no other reason than some individuals wanting an alternative. I think it can do well, and like I said before, even if it never really replaces Windows in many environments, it has really gotten the attention of Microsoft, improving their products and pricing. That should especially appeal to the Microsoft users.

I think if Linux had as little support as you seem to believe, Gates and Ballmer wouldn't be so focused on it.
