There comes a time ...
when there ability to maintain that strategic base falls apart. Then, and only then, will we see MS applications for Linux. Once major ISVs start publishing desktop applications for Linux and/or a WINE breakthrough comes, MS will reposition themselves in no time because it will no longer serve their interests to stonewall Linux OS. That day, certainly is not here yet, but it is drawing ever closer and I would not be surprised if MS is already secretly preparing their strategy.
