- I for one..

I for one do not advocate MORE taxes for education, nor was it in my message. I do however advocate a more equal balance. For all the crap he got, I think Jesse Ventura of MN was quoted a number of years ago as saying, "Why more money for the schools? It's like tossing a truckful of money into a black hole". He is/was right. There is no accountability and when someone challenges that view there is the cry "But it's for the children!!". Bull. In many cases it's for administration. It should be run like any other business where underperforming employees (including administration) get tossed out on their butts (NO tenure) and superior ones are rewarded. This is not the way of American education today. This propogates laziness and low performance. "Why should I work hard when Dweedle over there gets paid for doing almost nothing?" This was/is the main mistake of communism I believe. This is also the fate befalling the American corporation as HR departments more and more fear legal reprisals for "unjust termination", thus keeping underperforming (read: Lazy) employees in the ranks and de-motivating the whole.
My original message merely said that all students deserve the best education possible, not necessarily public or private. - Posted by: Zorched Posted on: 04/25/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
