For the sake of argument....
Actually I agree with you completely but let me see if I can find some counterpoints.

1) Well, with less labor costs the products those factories produce should be cheaper right? This is about raising productivity which lowers costs.

It's all a bit of a mind game- you make 10.00 an hour and you can buy dog food for 1.00 per can. With the new automated factory, the best work you can find pays 6.50 an hour but you can buy dog food for 6.00. So technically, you are ahead even tho it feels like you lost ground.

Certain things won't drop of course- premium land, premium/rare goods will rise beyond your ability to buy them but most ordinary things will just get cheaper and you'll have to work less to get them.
