jobs to assuage your conscience? Might I suggest that you stop your business, and thereby be a humanitarian by stopping the madness?

Which of course means, you would now have another class of workers to worry about - YOURS.

Sorry, but as an individual who has gone thru more than a couple of 'downsourcing', 'rightsourcing', 'career change' and the rest of the euphemistic digestive tract by-product changes - I cannot join you in this dirge to useless job losses.

There are jobs - if that means you have to move (yep - done that too, called practice what you preach) oh well - guess you have to do it. Or make your job. Or whatever it takes.

So lets have a raising of hands out there - be truthful now - how many out there are involved in the whale oil industry? How about fabrication of blocks from oak used in sailing ships? How many involved in the creation of rope? How many in the Northeast work in woolen and cotten mills? Hmmmm? Those are all industries that were vital to New England - Boston specifically (I won't mention smuggling liquer and spirits - especially by a particular Boston politcal family). And gosh - try buying a house within 50 miles of Boston lately?
