Does IT matter now?

IT has always played second fiddled to Oil: Look at the Oil Industry. They are the big boys. IT has never been close to the business the OIL corporations do.

IT spending for Oil and Gas companies has alway been nothing all. to spend $10,000,000 on a Gas production accounting software is treated it was nothing at all. They don't even think twice about it and don't bother looking for cheaper ways as 10 Million dollars to them is chump change. Try working for in the IT department of one of the big Oil corps. It will shock you how they spend money.
