Reality is calling..
It is obvious that you are not living in reality. With today's world of "do more with less" attitude and limited resources, regardless of how good your design is or how well the work process defined, there are always time and resource constraint. The number of developer per team has been shrinking in recent years, but of course, you live in a perfect world where nothing like this effects you. Unfortunately, I do not live in this "perfect world" as you; I have to face reality. Rule one in software development is nothing go according to plans, developments will never be on time, and projects will be over budget.

In term of innovations, Companies nowadays could careless about innovation. It is about cost. Why do you think all these companies are moving research labs overseas?

Believe me, I have nothing against U.S. workers I have a few architects (mainly U.S. workers) that work for me. They cannot code **** but can draw pretty pictures and sit well in meetings with executives. That is all I need them for, just a few of them to sit pretty.

In term of real work, Foreign developers are more obedient and get the work done even if it kills them. That's what makes them good code monkeys.

With H1Bs and the promise of a green card, I can squeeze at least 3 years out of them, unless HR messed up the Green Card process then it's 4-5 years.

I am sorry, but this is reality. Don't shoot the messenger, it is what the U.S. companies has created.
