One quibble
Overall I agree with your post, but don't assume that people in OK have no experience. For a while, Tulsa was the home of several major telecommunications companies. OK has always been big in the oil industry, employing many geologists and engineers (though not nearly as many now as formerly). There is a large talent pool here, just waiting for the jobs and willing to work for a lot less than most of the rest of the country. When you have no job, $8/hr is better than $0/hr -- even for someone who used to make 5 times that.

Just because it's Oklahoma, don't assume all the people are rubes or hillbillies. According to my mother/sister/wife, only most of us are. happy
