Wave generation
Been studied dude. Small scale it works okay, but not so hot large scale.

Besides - you get real deep into the NIMBY syndrome - look at all the ranting and screaming going on in Cape Cod - all them green mother earth tree huggin down with big oil types are frothing at their mouths at the thought of wind turbine generation plants offshore - it'll ruin the view doncha know - you think they wouldn't want to burn you at the organically grown non creosote soaked stake if'n you suggested they have a wave powered generator just off the shoreline.....
