Just some notes
It all comes down to money. No more fossil fuels, large area of revenue for city/state/feds is gone. Using friendly/free sources of energy is bad for public funding.

We have another untapped energy source, that some US kid just found a way to tap into. Granted it a rough design, but with a little help from a mechanical engineer, that thing could power cities. This device i am referring to float in or under the water and as waves roll in, which they do on a constant basis, no mater what the weather is, it turns a small turbine which produces energy. You could create areas in the ocean that do nothing but create energy with these devices.

Mobile energy is another issue. If we could get solar power to a point where a few hours a sun every now and then recharge super batteries that last a long time or even a plugin or wireless transmission from your house's panels would charge them. wow done, no more burning fossil fuels.

Beyond the above, you also have the issue of the global economy, truthfully i dont care where the idea comes from, as long as it betters society. IF someone else become rich along the way, well all be it, but as long as its best for society.
