Global warming - facts
This is not about arguing with the messages above, but to state a few truths, a few basic facts, for the correct information of other readers.

- There is vast consensus of the world scientific community that global warming is happening and is mostly caused by man made emissions of greenhouse gases through the burning of fossil fuels (oil coal, natural gas).
- All major industrial nation have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol (except the USA and Australia ? btw, Australia says it will meet its Kyoto commitment, even if not ratifying the Protocol)
- The Kyoto Protocol is only a first step in the right direction, not an end to the process of reducing emissions of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gas emissions hsould be reduced world-wide by say 60% in the long run (within say 50 years) if we want to limit climate changes to reasonable levels
