The difference is
That the "foundation" is NOT Bill Gates, nor does the money come from him but from other donors to the foundation. If BG gave some of his billions then you might have something to cheer about, but he didn't.

As you stated: The foundation has nothing to do with the corporation. Yet these stories make him out to be some sort of good samaritan, instead of the greedy sob that he is.

I would say that "mindless" and "idiots" should be reserved for anyone who is fooled by this obvious PR ploy. (oops, would that be you?)
