I think you miss the point
20 years from now I expect a lot changes. I can just imagine a datacenter that doesn't waste my time do the repetive tasks. That'd free me to cocentrate on other areas of IT.

What the article is saying is that the job you do today you won't be doing in 20 years. Well DUH!

IT is field of continual learning. If you don't like that idea then go into philosophy of political science. Even 5 years ago tasks I once did I don't do now.
