Why wouldn't this be the future?
After all, when I started in networking, you needed one network administrator for 1-4 servers and 50-100 employees. Now you need only one network administrator for 10 servers and 1000 employees. (this doesn't include workstation support)
Computers are almost disposable. In fact most major PC problems are cheaper to fix by buying a new computer than to pay someone to fix it. Then with programs that automatically push down corporate applications and allow users to just select "repair" to fix broken apps and roaming profiles, not to mention solutions like Citrix and its cousins. What do you really need a bunch of workstation people for? To physically carry the PC from the front desk where UPS drops it off to the desk it plugs into? Heck, you can hire immigrant workers to do that for minimum wage. Also, with computers and technology being as common in schools and the home as a TV, do you REALLY think that they will still need a "IT Professional" to plug a computer in to the network? Not hardly.

People who laugh at this article are both short sighted AND do not seem to see the trend technology is taking. Good luck to you all...keep holding on to the pipe dream that you will be gainfully employeed in the IT market in the future...
