Retraining? hah!
Retraining isn't even an option for many of us. I'm nearly 50, with 20 years in the IT field, and can't get a job 2 years after being laid-off due to outsourcing. I'm supposed to go back to school - and do what?

Plus, I have 2 younger friends who went back and trained in the "highly-sought-after" medical field. One finished his basic courses - and is on a 2 year waiting list to get into the tech programs to complete his training. The other finished and can't find a job because of the sudden flood of people in the med tech field.
