Brings home reality of software costs
For small businesses, say under 100 users, it really makes you think about how software licensing works, and how much it costs. Subscriptions are going to take awhile to take hold in smalled outfits, but larger, enterprise-level outfits should convert faster to subscriptions.

Of course, if businesses, small and large, were to choose software that doesn't have a licensing shelf-life, say like BSD or Linux, they wouldn't have to worry about a thrid party informing them that their software needed to be 'renewed.'

Just some thoughts.
