greed is actually:
'An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth' (from dictionary.com)

it is the excessive *desire* that is a 'sin', not simply having more than one needs.

as the bible says, it is the 'love of money' that is the root of all evil. not the money.

check your theology.

need is also very relative. id dare say all of us here have more than we *need*, so are we all, by your definition, greedy? in the eyes of someone starving with nothing in a third-world country, we are probably all greedy by that definition. its in our nature to assume someone with more is somehow a bad person, because we assume ourselves to be good and thus deserving of their station in life, rather than our own.
