Somewhat pointless change

If Yahoo really wants to make a splash (and I'm surprised not yahoo, google, or microsoft have done this yet), they should just go pick up a cool, or good, domain name and use that for the email address.

I generally hate Apple as a company but they got this one right with the me.com service they're initiating.

Want people to use your email service? Give them a good email, it's too simple.
