Most of the companies recognize the need to Idm and Access control. But there are several factors against successful implementation.
1)viewd as an IT initative rather than a CXO initative.
2) Half baked participation from HR.
3) Hardly any involvement from Physical security departments.
4) Overall poor understanding of the concept.
5) Inability to envision the solution convergence by Middle and higher management. (Identity repository -> central user identity ->Identity management/workflows-> application accesscontrol -> single signon).
